MAGNETIC PARTICLE
TESTING JOBS.
Reveal the invisible. Detect surface and near-surface fatigue cracks in ferromagnetic materials with unyielding contrast.
MISSION OBJECTIVES
THE SURFACE HUNTER
Visual inspection isn't enough when the crack is tighter than a human hair. As a Magnetic Particle Technician, you manipulate magnetic fields to force leakage fields that reveal the truth. Whether you are using a wet horizontal bench for aerospace precision or hiking a 10lb AC yoke up a tower for structural welds, your eye for indication interpretation prevents catastrophic fatigue failures.
- Execute AC/DC Yoke inspections on structural welds, identifying toe cracks and lack of fusion.
- Operate Wet Horizontal Benches (Head/Coil shots) for high-volume component testing.
- Apply Wet Fluorescent (WFMT) or Dry Powder particles depending on surface condition and sensitivity.
- Verify lighting intensity (UV-A / White Light) and system performance using Ketos rings or Pie Gauges.

PERSONNEL
STOP INHALING DUST FOR PEANUTS.
- METHOD PREFERENCE Choose your medium. Filter for clean "Wet Bench" shop roles or heavy-duty "Dry Powder" field contracts.
- LIGHTING CONDITIONS Hate working under a hood? Filter for Visible Light (Color Contrast) jobs vs. Fluorescent (Black Light) roles.
- CONSUMABLE STYLE Tired of messy bulk tanks? Look for contracts that utilize aerosol cans for cleaner, spot-check inspections.
- TRAVEL RADIUS Keep the yoke local. Set your geo-fence to find fabrication shops or construction sites near your home base.
RECRUITMENT
HIRE TRUE CONTRAST.
- TECHNIQUE MATCH Don't hire a bench operator for a tower climb. Filter for "Yoke" experience vs. "Stationary Bench" proficiency.
- DEMAG DISCIPLINE Ensure downstream quality. Find technicians who actually understand demagnetization limits and verification.
- INTERPRETATION Filter for Level IIs who can distinguish between relevant indications and non-relevant permeability variations.
- PROD SAFETY Need deep penetration? Find the rare technicians trained safely on Prod methods to avoid arc burns on critical parts.
