JOB SUMMARY

The Eddy Current Manufacturing Engineer serves as the primary technical expert for Eddy Current Testing (ECT) within manufacturing. This role supports EC probe production through advanced electrical engineering skills, mechanical/hardware understanding, troubleshooting leadership, and collaboration with Engineering, Quality, and Product Management teams. The engineer ensures robust test processes, develops technical training, resolves manufacturing issues rapidly, and contributes to probe and coil design activities (e.g., prototype, pilot, and production work instructions). The role is critical to sustaining and expanding internal EC expertise and supporting EC skill and training needs.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Provide day-to-day technical support and immediate issue resolution for EC probe manufacturing.
Develop and maintain expert-level knowledge of our instruments, probes, and software to support the manufacturing team by troubleshooting issues, creating or updating work instructions, and providing guidance to determine the significance and impact of problems.
Review, refine, and document QC test requirements, methods, and work instructions.
Deliver training to QC and manufacturing staff on EC principles, instrument use, and test procedures.
Support instrument and software functionality for EC testing systems.
Collaborate with Engineering on coil design, probe revisions, prototype testing, and feasibility studies.
Support evaluations of supplier and product non-conformances, including alternate material testing.
Assist Product Management and Customer Service with application questions and technical inquiries related to EC probes.
Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

US Citizen
Strong electrical engineering foundation with hands-on mechanical or hardware experience.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex test and/or manufacturing issues.
Experience in manufacturing, test engineering, or sensor/coil hardware preferred.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical details clearly.
Strong attention to detail

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school Diploma required
Bachelor’s degree in engineering related field (mechanical, electrical and/or manufacturing) or equivalent industry experience preferred
7 years of experience as an engineer (mechanical, electrical and/or manufacturing)
5+ years experience in NDT Industry
Experience with EC/NDT applications a plus

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

ECT level I or II preferred
Willingness to pursue level III within 5 years of employment
Able to obtain a DoD Clearance

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
